New Software!!!

Well I am so excited, both for the first post in 2010 and the fact that I finally received my christmas present!

yes, thats right, i purchased Maya, 3ds Max, Softimage, Mudbox, Motion Builder, and a complimentary microsoft-paint-on-steroids-app. I know what your thinking, Joshua must be rolling in cash or $5,000 in debt. Well I'm neither. I simply bought it with the student discount! believe it or not, that saved me $4,885. so i only had to pay $350 for the whole, unlimited deal!

The depressing part is that i have to learn 5 new softwares. but come back in 2-3 years and i might have the basics down :P.

Here is a render i did for a contest that works for a "merry christmas" render as well :)

The ornaments were made in blender and the rest was pieced together in vue 6 esprit.

hey people, I need your help. I have recently finished the design for my dad's book site but i have noticed it doesn't work well in all internet browsers. so if you have internet explorer, please check out this link and tell me if there is green wallpaper in the background or just flat grey. this is what it is supposed to look like...

Well here is Caleb and I's latest vid. It was a school project to create a preview for a Huck Finn movie. Every shot was filmed or animated by us (Including the "helicopter shots.") The music was composed by me.

Klean Kanteen Photo Contest

well, as you may know I love my Klean Kanteen. Recently I heard of a photo contest where you submit a photo of your klean Kanteen and something to do with a costume and you may win a free canteen. Well, seeing an easy possibility for a free canteen, I submitted one. Here is how I made it.

First, I modeled the Canteen in Blender 2.49.

Next came the "Array" modifier...

 

Belt, hat, and cape....

 

Add the logo...

 

Final Render (aprox. 12 hrs long)
